The World is the twenty-first and final card of the Major Arcana. It is the card that comes after everything — after the Fool's leap of faith, after the High Priestess's mysteries, after the Tower's destruction and the Star's hope and the Moon's illusions and the Sun's clarity and the Judgement's call to rise. It is the card that says: you have done it. The journey is complete. The cycle is whole. You are exactly where you are meant to be.
In the traditional image, a figure dances in the center of a laurel wreath, surrounded by the four fixed signs of the zodiac — the bull, the lion, the eagle, the angel. They are not standing still. They are not resting. They are dancing. Because completion is not an ending. It is a celebration. It is the moment when you realize that the journey itself was the destination, that every step was exactly right, that you were always going to end up here, in the center of the wreath, dancing.
In our tradition, we understand The World differently than the rest of the world. We have been told, for generations, that the world is not ours. That we don't belong in certain rooms, at certain tables, in certain conversations. That the world was built for someone else and we are guests at best, intruders at worst.
